About Elizabeth DiPaola Smith, FNP-BC
Elizabeth DiPaola Smith (Liz) FNP-BC hails from Annapolis, Maryland, and is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She attended James Madison University in Virginia for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She worked as a registered nurse at the University of Maryland Medical Center Downtown Baltimore’s Adult Emergency Department for five years.
Liz’s motivation to provide further care for her patients sparked her interest in attending Nurse Practitioner school. She received her Master of Science in Nursing degree with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner from George Mason University in Virginia.
After struggling with her acne and many failed acne treatments with prior dermatologists, Liz began to put research into her own hands. She began to love it so much that she was spending her free time recommending treatments for her family and friends realizing this was what she was meant to do. Liz completed nurse practitioner clinical hours in dermatology and enjoyed working with her hands through extractions, biopsies, and injectables. The technical skills and “detective-like” aspect of dermatology gave her the thrill and passion she was searching for in a career. Liz is committed to providing her patients educational and practical dermatologic and aesthetic care.
When she isn’t in the dermatology office, Liz loves spending time with her Fiancé, family, friends, and Yorkshire terrier “Riley.” She appreciates time at any beach and relaxing with a thrilling book.
